Blueberries and Cream Pie

This pie has been a hit recently in our home! I brought it to a friend who had a baby and she said it was one of the best pies she has ever had! Since I am not the biggest pie fan and have only made a few pies myself, I am not the best pie judge. But it was easy to make and it was delicious!

I didn't have much time before dinner so I opted for the store bought frozen pie crust.

And it worked just fine!

After I placed the blueberries inside the crust. I added the cream. (The other pies in the pictures are my chicken pop pies that I will give the recipe for soon!)

I then added the crumble and then it was time to bake!

My youngest son is OBSESSED with food! Anytime something yummy is baking in the oven he stands there and watches it bake making his lip smacking and ooooo ahhh sounds!

And once the pie is done cooking, serve with ice cream!

Blueberries and Cream pie
Cream filling:
3 cups fresh or frozen blueberries (I have also tried raspberries and they are delicious!)
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup flour
2 eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Crumb Topping
2 1/2 Tablespoons brown sugar
2 Tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 cup butter, melted
1/2 cup flour

Start with the cream filling. In a bowl or mixer, mix together the sugar and flour. Add in the sour cream, eggs, and vanilla. Place the blueberries in the pie crust and then pour the filling over the blueberries evenly.

Now make the crumb topping. Mix together the sugar, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg. Pour the melted butter into the bowl and mix together well. Then add the flour in gradually while stiring to create the crumb topping. Place the crumble over the pie evenly.

Bake the pie at 375 degrees for 55 minutes. (even pie crust edges get too brown cover with tin foil)

Serve with ice cream and enjoy! (This pie is a mix between a pie and a cobbler)
