Halloween Ooey Gooey Candy Corn Chex Mix

 

I am absolutely addicted to this stuff. It has been my favorite for years no matter what holiday it is! I am usually not a huge candy corn fan but in this mix I am all about it. I make this with just chex mix but when it is too gooey sometimes I add original life cereal (like I did in the picture above) because that is what I have. You can just use chex mix I love that way too and that is how the recipe is written or you can add in original life cereal. This recipe also has a lot to do with how you like your ooey gooey chex mix. Some people don’t like a single dry piece of cereal and others like it drier. If you like it gooey don’t add the whole box of cereal if you like it dry add about a box and a half of cereal.

 

Ooey Gooey Candy Corn Chex Mix

Ingredients

• 1 cup + 2 Tablespoons margarine (this sets up way better than butter)
• 1 1/2 cups sugar
• 1 1/2 cups karo syrup
• 1 1/2 teaspoons coconut flavoring
• 7 ounces angel flake coconut
• (17 ounce) box of Rice Chex

Instructions

1. Boil liquids in a saucepan for 3 minutes. Remove from heat.
2. Stir in remaining ingredients. Then you can add sliced almonds, M&M's or Candy Corn like I did!
