Biscuits and Gravy Casserole

How to Make Biscuits and Gravy

Calling all Biscuits and Gravy lovers, this recipe is one of my absolute favorites!

I am a HUGE biscuits and gravy lover. It is what I make almost every single week and every time I go out to breakfast or brunch I order biscuits and gravy.

For Easter this year I was in charge of making a “breakfast casserole” for my family party. And this is the recipe that I made. It was gobbled up in minutes and I am still a huge fan! Whoever invented the concept of biscuits and gravy is a genius because this breakfast meal never disappoints. For those who don’t know, this recipe is a combination of fluffy biscuits with sausage gravy poured on top, or in this case inside! Check out this recipe to make at your next big family brunch and impress everyone with your amazing cooking!

Biscuits and Gravy Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cans Grands biscuits
  • 1 lb sausage
  • Salt and pepper
  • Pinch of cayenne
  • 1/4 cup Wondra
  • 3 cups milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Then take 1 of the cans of Grand biscuits and cut each biscuit into quarters. Then grab a 9×13 baking dish and spray the baking dish with cooking spray. Then arrange the quarters of biscuits down into the baking dish. Then pop the pan into the oven for 10 minutes.
  2. While the bottom layer is cooking brown the sausage. Then add the salt, pepper, and cayenne. And season the sausage. Once the sausage is cooked sprinkle the Wondra on the sausage and stir. The Wondra will begin to soak up the grease. Then add the milk and bring the milk to a boil. The gravy will begin to thicken. Once it is thick remove from heat.
  3. Then pour the gravy over the cooked biscuit pieces. Then take the final can of Gran biscuits and cut them also into quarters. Then plan in a single layer over the gravy then put the baking dish bake in the oven and cook for 15 minutes.
  4. Brush with butter when it is down and then serve!

This is my families favorite breakfast! My son asks for it weekly. I take it to all the brunch parties I go to and tons of people ask for the recipe. Maple is my favorite sausage flavor to use. I don’t add the cayenne pepper. It’s delicious thanks for sharing
