Carne Asada Marinade Recipe

Have you always wanted a recipe for the perfect Carne Asada marinade? Just like the restaurants use with ingredients that are easy to find at your local grocery store. Well here it is!

Carne asada is a household favorite and having the perfect carne asada marinade is the secret to amazing nachos! Have you ever wondered how the restaurants make their carne asada taste amazing every time? This is a copycat marinade recipe and you will never cook carne asada the same again. It is super easy to prepare with pantry staples and the whole family will be drooling over the flavor. Try it out!

Marinade Recipe

The Best Carne Asada Marinade

The Best Carne Asada Marinade
Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 3 hours
Total Time 3 hours 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs carne asada meat
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 4 Tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 T paprika
  • 1 T Trader Joes chili lime powder (or 1 t cumin + 1 t chili powder)
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 T olive oil
  • 1 large jalapeno, seeded and diced
  • 1 orange, juiced
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
  • 1/2 cup apple juice (or 1/2 cup Mexican beer)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl add the carne asada meat and place in all the remaining ingredients.
  2. Mix it all together well. Massage the meat with your hands so that the marinade gets deeper into the meat.
  3. Cover and let marinade for a few hours or overnight.
  4. Next, you can either put the meat in a crockpot to cook or place meat in a cast iron skillet and cook.
  5. Let the meat rest for 15 minutes.
  6. Chop into smaller pieces and serve!
