I have found that my pies always taste a lot better if I make everything from scratch and it is also way more rewarding. With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, this is the perfect opportunity to show off to friends and family. You can even put your own flare into it by giving the sides some design. I like to twist the ends to make it look fancy, but don’t let it fool you! This is actually a super easy recipe to make that doesn’t take a lot of time to prepare.

How to Make Homemade Pie Crust
Easy Pie Crust Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup shortening
- ½ t salt
- ¼ cup milk
- 2 T vinegar
- 1 T sugar
Instructions
- Cut shortening into flour with pastry cutter.
- Add the salt, milk, vinegar, and sugar. Mix together.
- Separate into two equal portions and roll out the crust very thin.
- Place carefully in a pie pan by also adding a little flour at the bottom so it does not stick.
- Take off any extra pieces of crust on the sides before placing in the oven. If you want to get fancy you can fold them over in a pattern to make a pretty design around the rim.
- Bake at 400 degrees until lightly brown.
